How much does it cost?
Nothing!!! All Camp Quality activities (including the year-round events and our puppet program) are free for campers, their families and our volunteers! Camp Quality is able to offer our great programs for free thanks to the generous support of our donors.
How long is camp?
Each camp location hosts a one-week, live-at-location, camp experience. All meals and programs are provided for.
What is a companion?
A companion is Camp Quality’s version of a camp counselor. With a twist! Each camper is paired with their very own companion. Companions participate in all events and programs along side their camper. A Companion is a caring, trained volunteer that is 18 years or older, who gives his/her leisure time to provide one-to-one companionship to a camper. After references and police checks have been verified and training has been completed, a volunteer is then matched with a child. Companions meet with their camper and his/her family before camp. This builds trust and allows friendship to develop before camp.
Campers and companions keep in touch all year long and the hope is that they will remain friends for years to come.
Do campers sleep in tents?
No! Although each camp location is different, campers and volunteers all sleep in cabins or dorms, not tents. Some camps offer one overnight during the week for the older campers where they can sleep in tents or under the stars, if they want!
What is the food like?
Delicious!!! Our kitchen volunteers make sure that all meals are healthy and delicious! And campers never go hungry at Camp Quality -- there's always a snack or a meal just around the corner! If a camper is allergic to certain foods or has other special dietary needs, please tell us before camp and we'll make sure that we have something special just for them!
Can siblings attend Camp Quality?
Siblings can come in a camper's first year at Camp Quality. After that, siblings are welcome only if space is available.
How do campers get to camp?
Each camp establishes pick-up spots where a bus will meet campers and their parents to bring them to camp! Once a camper is registered, an information package will be mailed out detailing pick-up times and locations. Some camps return campers by bus, others have a family festival on the last day for parents to pick up their children. Please ask the Camper Registrar at the Camp location nearest you for further details.
