Message from the director
Camp Quality Alberta 2007 has been great. What a great way to end my directorship.
Our theme this year was Lights! Camera! Action! And what a whirlwind week we had. Some of the activities we did were, horseback riding, getting lost in the corn maze, great crafts, Build a Bear, Pirates of the Caribbean ball, messy games, swimming, waterslides and my favorite the Oscars. For the Oscars we had a team from London Drugs and Bonne Bell come out to the camp and do our makeup. Our cook and her team of ladies served us a sit down meal, which was amazing. The campers and some of the staff were awarded Oscars.
It was a bitter sweet year for me as I am leaving my position of director, while I will still be involved with the camp, it will be to a lesser degree. I have been very lucky to have such dedicated people who have worked alongside of me during my time as director. I could not have done the work without you.
Our new director, Joey Sarpal comes to the position with many years of volunteer experience. She will be a great asset to Camp Quality Alberta.
Many people have asked me why I like Camp Quality so much. It is not an easy answer. There is so much to the camp I love. Watching the kids interacting with their companions, and looking up to them is wonderful. . They may not remember your name ten years from now but they can’t forget the memories. When I see the smiles and hear the laughter, I know that we are making great memories.
I’ve had the time of my life!
